Director, Lead Instructor, Manager of Defence Training
Dave grew up in the Aces zone where he played through his bantam years, moving onto Blazer and Contacts and at 17 the Saskatoon Blades. In Dave’s third season with the Blades he was selected as captain of the team.
Dave was drafted and signed by the Los Angeles Kings and later played minor pro in New Haven, Connecticut and Toledo, Ohio. He returned to Saskatoon after a shoulder injury and attended the University of Saskatchewan.
He played for the Huskies where he helped the team to the national finals in his third year. After playing with the Huskies he moved on to a career in law enforcement where he worked with Prince Albert City Police and Saskatoon Police Service for 16 years.
Dave coached the Saskatoon Blazers with Ken Johnson winning a league championship and a birth to the regional tournament. He then moved on to be an assistant coach with Saskatoon Blades for 11 years being involved and mentored by great coaches throughout his time there. The Blades had some success during these years including a highlight of winning the Eastern Championship.
Dave was involved with the Saskatoon Blazers as a director for 8 years following his time with the Blades.
Dave is currently the head coach of the Saskatoon Stallions who compete in the SBAAHL. His passion for hockey has been lifelong and he loves working with players helping them gain skill and confidence while enjoying the game as much as he does.
