Summer Camps 2026
All of our summer camps unless otherwise stated, include 2 ice sessions per day, 1 hour of dry land training and daily hockey IQ. Groups will be scheduled efficiently so there is very little down time. Camps are fast paced and are scheduled to get maximum use out of the time players are with us.
Our dry land training is held on site at Rod Hamm Arena in our fully equipped Performance Center. Sessions will be lead by one of our certified personal trainers. All dry land training will be sport/age specific, insuring proper technique, designed to complement our on ice sessions and to reinforce quickness, strength, endurance and agility.
Our Hockey IQ will include nutrition, motivation, time management, work ethic, individual goal setting and sport psychology. Hockey IQ sessions will be presented by our coaching staff, trainers and team of experts.
If you are a goalie interested in attending any of our camps, please email us as we limit each camp to 2 goalies per camp.
Players attending our 5-day camps will receive jerseys.
Skills Camp
This camp will cover all aspects of individual skill development to strengthen player’s game play in all areas. We will cover quickness, agility, shooting; stick handling, passing/receiving, edge work, power skating, balance and more. As skills are mastered correctly, instructors will introduce speed and quickness to the training so that all participants are developing and improving throughout the camp. This will be a fun but challenging week!

Checking, Battle and Compete Camp
Note this is a 3 day camp.
Checking, Battle and Compete Camp will push players to compete at a higher level and to become more comfortable with body contact and physical engagement type drills. Players will learn how to utilize their bodies to win the 1 on 1 battle, races for loose pucks, puck protection and wall play. Along with properly taking and receiving a check.
The on ice component of the camp is focused on:
- Engagement drills
- Small area games
- Battle and competing skills
- Puck protection
- Cycling concepts
- Correct body checking/receiving skills
- Giving and receiving a check
- Respect for your opponent
- Two 60 minute ice sessions per day
Daily Hockey IQ session to discuss and reinforce what is being taught on the ice.
Daily dry land session daily focusing on conditioning, balance and core strength.

Defence Camp
Note this is a 4 day camp.
This camp will cover responsibilities and skills required by defense players.
Players will be grouped according to age and ability.
- Forward/backward skating and edge control-Hockey specific power skating
- Stick, body, net and odd-man rush positioning
- Gap control, pivoting, neutral zone responsibility
- Angling, low battles, first pass, transitioning
- Shot making instruction:
- Forehand, backhand, slap and forehand shot
- Shooting accuracy, to score, for deflections, walk the line
- Stick management, offensive, neutral and defensive zone passing
- Power play responsibilities and opportunities
- Battle and Compete instruction:
- Winning one on one battles in the corners and the walls, body checking and avoidance
- Domination in faceoff circle, in front of the net
- Controlling your opponent, protecting your goalie

Forward Development Camp

On ice training specific for players, playing forward position.
On ice skills will focus on positioning with and without the puck, acceleration, power turns, explosive starts and strong stop, speed with and without the puck, quickness and agility, passing and receiving, creating space, with and without the puck, winning battles along the boards and more!

Performance Plus Camp
This camp is for players who are competing or want to compete at a higher level. Ice sessions will be at a high intensity, working on power acceleration, mastering stick skill, winning battles, edge work, speed with the puck, shooting and passing, and much more. It is intended to push player to achieve their maximum performance level. This camp is for elite players or those players trying to reach a higher level.

Power Skating & Conditioning Camp
The focus of this camp will cover and reinforce proper skating posture, stride, agility, backwards skating, edges and crossovers, balance and weight transfer, stops and starts, forward and backward stride development, tight turns, balance drills and more! Quickness and speed will be encouraged once skills are mastered. The gym time will focus on balance, conditioning and agility training to compliment what players are learning on the ice. This is an excellent camp for any player wanting to work on overall skill!
Sticks and pucks will be used throughout these sessions.

Advanced ‘D’ Zone Camp
This camp is for any player who has participated in our in-season D Zone training or previous SAH Defense Camps.
Players will work on all aspects of a playing the position of Defense for example, defense specific skating skills, offensive zone tactics, defending against multiple attackers, active stick defense, outlet passing and breakout routes, body positioning and puck protection. All skills will be introduced, mastered and advanced to game play speed throughout the week.

Foundation Development Camp
Please note this is a 2 day camp.
This is a great introduction to the camp atmosphere to our young players starting out.
During the 2, 60 minute on ice sessions per day instructors will work on strong skating skills, skating with the puck, passing and shooting.
Our daily dryland sessions will introduce players to the gym while having fun but working hard through age appropriate training.
Daily dryland Hockey Skills sessions will cover balance, agility, and stick handling training.
Our instructors will be on hand to assist players with equipment and moving throughout the rink.

Prep Camp
This program is designed to improve players overall skill in all areas of play. Coaches will work on stick handling, power skating, protection tactics, passing and receiving, shooting, pressure and speed, acceleration and over all proper technique and conditioning. This camp incorporates lots of conditioning and is a great way to get ready for the upcoming season!
All players are grouped by age and ability. Any movement between groups is at the coaches/instructors discretion.
