Dryland Hockey Skills Team Training

Dryland Hockey Skills Team Training

The ability to improve hockey skills is not limited to the ice surface. Players of all ages and experience can benefit from dry land hockey skills sessions. Proper off-ice skills training can improve skill, power, speed, stamina, injury prevention and overall health.

These sessions will be designed to improve the following:

Hockey is a game of quick bursts of speed and changes of direction. It's more about acceleration and deceleration than max speed. In other words, it doesn't matter if you win the race around the rink; it matters that you win the race from the front of the net to the corner.

Puck Skills / Stick Handling
This is a fundamental skill all hockey players can continuously work to improve on. The instructors will focus on proper stance and proper hand and head positioning throughout these drills. All puck skills training will help players get more comfortable with the puck, gain control and maintain possession in actual game play.

Balance ability has a significant effect on athletic performance, which is essential for hockey players during most aspects of games. They are required to maintain single leg balance while shooting accurately, changing direction rapidly and increasing their ability to not be taken off balance by other players.

Agility helps performance in activities that require you to change direction quickly all while keeping balance, strength, and body control. Increased agility has a direct effect on over all increased speed on the ice.
